EMILY TORGRIMSON believes in building a more equitable world through the shared power of food. As the co-founder and Executive Director of the nonprofit Eat for Equity and its social enterprise, Eat for Equity Catering, Emily has steered both organizations through seasons of immense growth and resilience. Under her leadership, Eat for Equity’s shared kitchen has transformed into a thriving community hub. She is currently leading Eat for Equity’s transition to building ownership – a vision designed to secure long-term stability and permanent, affordable kitchen space for local food entrepreneurs. Emily holds a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Science from Boston University.

Eat for Equity’s board of directors meets quarterly around a dinner table to help the organization grow sustainably and achieve its mission. Our board of directors has a wide range of skills and experiences: in community organizing, non-profit management, policy development, social work, education, and new media. Board members provide strategic guidance for the national Eat for Equity organization.
