Benefitting Organization
This month’s benefitting organization is Eat for Equity! Your donations will support our general operating expenses, and will be shared between the Minneapolis branch and the national organization [which is also based here but supports the work of all of our nine branches across the country].
Eleven out 12 months of the year, our Minneapolis events support othernonprofit causes, building a culture of generosity through our sustainable community feasts. This is the month where we invite you to give what you can to feed our organization and invest in the Eat for Equity community.
Gear
If you plan to stay overnight at the festival, bring a sleeping bag and pad, shared tent, and other overnight gear. Need to borrow gear? We may be able to help if you ask.
We encourage you to bring a blanket to sit on and share, a swimsuit and towel, a headlamp for the headlamp disco, sunscreen, sunglasses, bug spray.
Food and Drink
Eat for Equity will provide dinner and dessert on Saturday night – we’ll feast on Midwestern Nicoise salad with Star Prairie smoked trout; Barley Salad with Nettle Pesto, Sweet Corn, and Tomatoes; Fresh bread with Carrot Harissa Spread; Shaved Zucchini; Rhubarb Bars; and Mulberry Soda.
We’ll be featuring FINNEGANS beer and Amara wines from South Africa throughout the night.
And when you wake up on Mud Lake, we’ll also have a farm breakfast for you, with Birchwood granola, yogurt, fresh fruit, and eggs, served with Dunn Bros. coffee.
Lily Springs
Lily Springs is a magical place, with woods to explore and a lake to jump in. We’re so excited to welcome you to it. Here are detailed directions to Lily Springs from the Twin Cities.
When you arrive, Lily Springs will ask you to sign a waiver, and we will have copies available on Saturday.
As for facilities, we will be premiering the soon to be world famous HayBale Urinal, and will also have a Porta Potty on site for the traditionalists. There is a bathroom in the farmhouse, but for emergencies only.
Weather
The festival is rain or shine, though of course, we’re hoping for shine! Saturday is supposed to be 75 and sunny!
