Eat for Equity Minneapolis for Rural Health Care Initiative: Saturday, September 22

This month, come to Sierra Leone.

Your supper money will go to Rural Health Care Initiative(RHCI), which focuses on maternal-child health in Tikonko chiefdom, a community of 47,000 people spread over 17 villages. This community has one poorly equipped government health clinic, which can be a day’s walk from the other villages in the chiefdom. Women and children in Tikonko experience high rates of death due to treatable and preventable illnesses and complications during childbirth. Just over 1 in 10 of all the babies born in Tikondo won’t survive their first year of life.

RHCI is founded by a native daughter of the village, and is a partner of the Sierra Leone Community of Minnesota. The money we raise together will be used to send medicine and supplies to the clinic and village.
All are welcome to this private party, but please RSVP.
