Minneapolis E4E: Saturday, July 30posted: Saturday, July 30th, 2011
This month, eat and drink for Eat for Equity. Yeah, you read that right. An E4E 4 E4E.
Why does Eat for Equity need your support? We’ve been putting on volunteer-run monthly benefit dinners for almost four years, and raised more than $30,000 for organizations around the world and in our community. We’re growing like crazy, thanks to you! We consistently bring together around a hundred people each month, and that means that we continue to need more plates, more forks, more pots. We want those investments to come from a general Eat for Equity fund, and not out of contributions to a monthly organization.
We’re also becoming a non-profit, so in the near future, your contributions will be tax-deductible and Eat for Equity will be able to apply for grants, so that even more of your money can go to our monthly cause. This is your chance to invest in the Eat for Equity community and vision: namely, communities built around good food, where individuals come together and, through generous giving at all levels, are collectively able to create a better, more equitable world.
We’ve got a lot of great things planned for this month, including a dance party dj-ed by our own Colin, and a rocking’ photobooth with Eat for Equity props. Want to help make it happen? Sign up to volunteer on Friday night, Saturday afternoon, or Saturday evening, and you can be a part of putting food on the table.
You’ll experience a Mediterranean feast…
Artichoke and Chickpea Tagine
Lemon Anise Ice
As well as homebrews from our friends at Driftless Brewery and the West Bank Brewing Club

Dinner starts at 7, and we suggest a $10-20 donation. All are welcome, and we hope to see y’all there!
Last month, we raised almost $1,000 for Northside Achievement Zone, and feasted at the Kindred Kitchen’s space. You all voted to send our money to NAZ’s work closing the achievement gap for kids in north Minneapolis – by bringing together families, schools, and community organizations to create opportunities and support.
