E4E for SPOKES, April 26 – Minneapolis

April’s Minneapolis Eat for Equity event will benefit SPOKES Bike Walk Connect! SPOKES is a Minneapolis community space and resource with a mission of growing a more informed and diverse population of bicyclists and pedestrians. SPOKES does this by working to remove the barriers that make it difficult for people to use bicycles or walk. This includes adult Learn-to-Ride and Earn-a-Bike programs, community rides to provide experience in riding in traffic, a community bike library that loans reconditioned bikes to low-income residents for the summer, open shop hours, and working to improve our biking and walking environment. Because of its location at the intersection of the Cedar-Riverside, Phillips and Seward neighborhoods, SPOKES has been working extensively with the large East African immigrant community in those neighborhoods.

All are invited to attend an open house at SPOKES before dinner! Between 6 and 7PM, stop by SPOKES (1915 East 22nd Street, Minneapolis, 55406) to see their shop space and have an appetizer.

Then, from 7-10 PM, join us for an African feast, homebrew, music, and a poetry reading at:

Verdant Tea
2111 E Franklin Ave
Minneapolis, MN 55404
