E4E in Boston this Saturday raises money for Lakota community in South Dakota

Dear Friends,

This time we’re bringing Eat for Equity a little closer to home.  We’ve selected an American organization for this month’s dinner.  Pretty Bird Woman House, located in the Standing Rock reservation of South Dakota, provides emergency shelter and advocacy support for women who have been victims of domestic violence or sexual assault.  The shelter serves women from the Lakota community.

And when I say ‘bringing it closer to home’, we mean right back to where it started.  This month we’ll be holding our dinner in the beautiful Harriet E. Richards Cooperative House at Boston University, where we first hatched the idea in 2005.

For those of you unfamiliar with Eat for Equity, it started five years ago with a few friends at Boston University. We choose an organization doing good work, plan a tasty menu which relates either regionally or thematically to the organization, and invite all our friends. You (our friends) make a small donation for dinner, and all proceeds benefit said organization.   By attending an E4E, you’ll meet good people, eat good food, and do some good.  A win-win all around!

We’ll serve up a menu of delicious Native American dishes and a few adult beverages.  Exactly what those dishes will be is TBD, but we’ll send a teaser in a day or two.

Here is all the relevant information:
