Portland E4E this month benefits Haiti!
posted: Wednesday, January 13th, 2010The Portland team has decided unequivocally that this month’s dinner should benefit Haiti. We’ll host it in North Portland.
Over 3.1 million people in Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, have been affected by the 7.0 level earthquake that hit Tuesday, January 12th. Already wrought with humanitarian problems, Haiti is in desperate need of vital assistance at this time. Your donation money will help Haiti rebuild after relief service providers depart. Eat for Equity will benefit the Lambi Fund, a nonprofit started by a group of Haitians and Americans. Its focus is on community-based social and economic empowerment of local people.
Please join us! Email Kate at portland (at) eatforequity (dot) org to get details on dinner location. Dinner will begin at 6pm.
Menu to be determined… stay tuned for more menu details soon!
