A Pie Party for Oso Mudslide Relief
posted: Thursday, May 29th, 2014Eat for Equity got its beginnings in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. At our core, we’ve always made it a priority to hold community feasts to benefit those hit hardest by disasters.
Over a month ago, the town of Oso, WA was hit hard by a mudslide, which left a devastating physical and emotional mark on the small community. Eat for Equity Seattle is partnering with Oso Mudslide Relief to raise funds to go directly to the rebuilding efforts.
On Wednesday June 4th, we are hosting a pie party to raise funds for the Oso Relief group. This will be a smaller scale event than usual, featuring snacks, drinks, and of course, pie! We’ve got a keg of Peddler’s beer, 15 savory and sweet pies made by volunteers, snacks and appetizers, live music, and coffee tasting! Your entry donation of $10-20 will get you a taste of all the pies and drink. We will also be raffling off extra-special pies from some of Seattle’s favorite bakeries, like Shoefly Pie Co, Wandering Goose, High 5 Pie Co, Grateful Bread Co, and Deborah’s Pies. Bring some extra cash for the raffle!
You can find all of the detail and RSVP at eatforequity.org/seattle
