E4E for Circle of Discipline: Saturday, January 28
posted: Wednesday, January 18th, 2012In December, we came together to raise $1500 for D.R.E.A.M.S., a youth-driven project around climate change and social justice at the Science Museum’s Kitty Anderson Youth Science Center. These teenagers are becoming passionate voices for environmental solutions in their communities, as you can see from this contest-winning music video they produced. Late last year, Eat for Equity was featured on NBC’s Today Show on Thanksgiving morning – you can see the story about E4E here. See pics and find out more at our new website [many thanks to Allison Balow!], eatforequity.org.
This month, your supper money will go to support Circle of Discipline, which uses boxing as a tool to empower young adults to develop their physical, mental, and emotional strength. Centered in the Minneapolis neighborhoods of Phillips and Powderhorn, Circle of Discipline provides mentors and a disciplined, supportive structure for urban and high-risk youth, helping youth channel their energy into positive and safe outlets.
