E4E Boston: Sustainable Harvest International
posted: Friday, February 10th, 2012To kick off 2012, we are hosting an Eat for Equity in support of Sustainable Harvest International (SHI), an organization focused on providing Central American farming families with training and infrastructure needed to preserve the world’s tropical forests while overcoming poverty. Since 1997, SHI has grown organic vegetable gardens and provided farmers with important tools, such as wood-conserving stoves and bio-gas digesters, and educational programs throughout Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama.
In the spirit of the organization’s work, we will provide a scrumptious meal for all of our guests using some of SHI’s recipes for Central American fare. Expect a smorgasbord of Latin cuisine inspired by the farmers and families who work with SHI.
