E4E Blog

Last month you helped raise money to keep the E4E train a-rollin’ along. This month we’re back out in the community raising money for another critical community-building nonprofit, Centro de Trabajadores Unidos en Lucha (CTUL).

This is one of those organizations that just might bring acronyms back into style! CTUL represents and empowers the most vulnerable segments of U.S. society, including immigrants, people of color, and wome…n in the workplace. It organizes low income retail cleaning workers in a time when when workers’ rights have been increasingly under threat.

Remember the 12-day hunger strike outside of the Lake Street Cub Foods? That was CTUL at work for your community and its workers. The hunger strike is over but the legal fees drag on. So it’s time to loosen your belt and do your part! Sit down and enjoy a meal with us to help CTUL keep standing up for workers’ rights.

Here’s what you can do to help: Pick up a plate and a fork and feast on the following south-of-the boarder favorites:

Tortilla Chips and pico de gallo
Sweet Corn with Lime Cumin Butter
Black Beans
Cilantro Rice
Pork Carnitas
Tamarind Aqua Fresca
Watermelon Jalapeno Popsicles
EAT FOR EQUITY
Terin Mayer
3941 Portland Ave. S.
Minneapolis, MN

Dinner starts at 7, and we suggest a $10-20 donation. All are welcome, and we hope to see y’all there!

Want to get more involved? Sign up to volunteer on Friday night, Saturday afternoon, or Saturday evening, and you can be a part of putting food on the table (i.e. a hero for a night).

See you there heroes, heart-breakers and helpless do-gooders!
